FORMER BOTSWANA BUILDING SOCIETY SHARE ACCOUNTS NOW DEPOSIT ACCOUNTS UNDER BBS LIMITED

BBS Limited customers are reminded that under the former Botswana Building Society, shareholders of the former Botswana Building Society were given the opportunity to purchase shares in the new BBS Limited which came into existence on Thursday 26 April 2018. As a reminder, BBS Limited is the company that will submit a commercial banking license application to the Bank of Botswana in due course.

BBS ISSUED WITH A CERTIFICATE OF INCORPORATION

Shareholders, Investors, Stakeholders and the Public are informed that Botswana Building Society received its Certificate of Incorporation on Thursday 26 April 2018 from the Companies and Intellectual Property Authority (“CIPA”) and is now known as “BBS Limited”. Therefore, BBS is now a company not a building society. Consequently, the “BBS” in “BBS Limited’” no longer means “Botswana Building Society” but denotes the historical origins of the business so that the goodwill it built over the years is not lost going forward.

BBS LIMITED TO DONATE SPECTACLES TO ZUTSHWA PRIMARY SCHOOL PUPILS

BBS Limited, in partnership with You Only Live Once (“YOLO”) M.C.C Botswana, a non-governmental organisation whose primary objective is to address challenges of sight amongst students, will carry out eye tests on pupils of Letswai Primary School in Zutshwa, Kgalagadi North, in order to donate spectacles to those that are visually challenged.

BOTSWANA BUILDING SOCIETY (BBS) TO CONSTRUCT ABLUTION FACILITIES AND REFURBISH EXISTING ONES AT MOLAPOWABOJANG PRIMARY SCHOOL

Following a request by Molapowabojang Primary School Head Ms. Cecilia Tshamekang for the school to be assisted with new ablution facilities and for the existing ones to be refurbished, BBS is pleased to indicate that works will commence during the middle of this month.The project will include ablution facilities and a kitchen for teachers and is estimated to cost P323, 000.00. A local contractor, First Point Group (Pty) Ltd has been engaged while another citizen owned firm Arcswana Architects (Pty) led by its Managing Director Mr.

BOTSWANA BUILDING SOCIETY (BBS) EQUIPS COMPUTER LABORATORY AT MOWANA PRIMARY SCHOOL

Botswana Building Society has successfully completed the equipping of a computer laboratory at Mowana Primary School in the North East District.

Specifically, the project focused on cabling of the computer laboratory which has 13 network points, supplying and fitting of the network data cabinet, supplying of internet connectivity and providing a wireless router to enable those with laptops, smart phones and Tablets to connect to the internet.

Botswana Building Society (“BBS”), led by its Managing Director Mr. Pius Komane Molefe, has been consulting Members across the country on the plan to commercialise BBS. The meetings were from 23 May to 31 May 2016.

Having held two educational events at the Rail Park and Airport Junction malls in Gaborone, the third Botswana Building Society (“BBS”) educational forum at Galo Mall in Francistown from Friday 22 to Saturday 23 April 2016. This is one of the Society’s various public education initiatives which are aimed at helping Batswana and other stakeholders to have a greater appreciation of Botswana Building Society (“BBS”) products and services.

Botswana Building Society (“BBS”) would like to state that it is not aware of  nor has it ever been involved in phone tapping activities as implied by the heading of the Sunday Standard article  BBS in phone-tapping controversy  in the January 10-16, 2016 edition. Therefore, the newspaper headline is incorrect and misleading.
