On Thursday 14 March 2013, BBS Bank hosted some of its Francistown based customers at a Breakfast Session to show appreciation for their support and share ideas on how the relationship may be strengthened. The event was also attended by the His Worship the Mayor of the City of Francistown, Han. Councilor James Kgalajwe.
Welcoming the customers, the BBS Bank Managing Director Mr. Pius Komane Molefe informed them that the Bank was also working towards acquiring a banking license which would enable it to improve its reach and product offering. The banking license would also help BBS Bank to achieve its ambition of becoming the first indigenous commercial bank in Botswana. "As we move forward, we hope that you will continue to trust in and support us," he said.
The guest speaker, Ms. Boikanyo Bridget Pillar, who is the Botswana Unified Revenue Service ("BURS") Revenue Manager- North, not only advised BBS Bank customers of the mandate of BURS but also informed them of the need to ensure that they pay tax and how to do so. Customers then had an opportunity to seek clarity on tax related matters.
Thanking the customers at the end of the event, the BBS Bank Head of Risk Ms. Julia Ntshole assured them that the bank will continue to strive for better ways of giving them excellent customer service. She added that BBS Bank was grateful for the customers support and hoped that it will continue for a long time to come.
Customers were also given gifts as tokens of appreciation.
