As part of our continuing effort to help disadvantaged fellow Batswana, BBS Bank has donated the P200,000,00 towards the construction of two houses in Charleshill. The houses constructed was in partnership with the Ghanzi District Council and handed over on the 07 October 2013 during World Habitat Day Celebrations. The guest of honour was Minister of Lands and Housing, Honourable L.T Mokalake.
The houses built comprised of two bedroomed, a kitchen and a bathroom and because of unavailability of water in that area a separate pit latrine was built behind the houses. One of our houses was donated to a widow who was struggling to raise seven children, while the other house was given to an old couple who also had five children. The minister applauded the bank for doing a very wonderful job in helping to alleviate poverty in the community we are operating on, and the beneficiaries of the houses had no words to describe how delighted they were with their new homes
