On Wednesday 28 November 2012, BBS Bank hosted its top 20 investors to breakfast at the Gaborone Sun Hotel. Speaking at the event, the BBS Bank Managing Director Mr. Pius Molefe said that the objective of the event was for the Society to express its appreciation for the investors’ support through the years.

He informed them that BBS Bank would not have had the successes it has had were it not for their loyalty. Mr. Molefe also added that BBS Bank is “looking forward to your support in 2013 especially as we have grand plans that are intended to ensure that it continues to be a sustainable business worth continuing to invest in by individuals such as yourselves. For instance, we have plans to acquire a commercial banking licence which will help us to compete effectively in the market ensuring even better returns for our shareholders.”

Speaking on behalf of the guests, former Cabinet Minister Hon. Dr. Gaositwe Chiepe, who started investing with BBS Bank when it was still called the United Building Society of South Africa over 35 years ago, thanked the Society for organising the event emphasising that it was useful for sharing views and appreciating what affects them as customers.

Also at the event was Mr. Nelson Letshwene, a local independent financial advisor, who shared his knowledge on matters of financial management. The BBS Bank investors were also given gifts as tokens of appreciation.
