Corporate Social Investment

In addition to its core activities, Botswana Building Society contributes towards improving the quality of life of communities both rural and urban in Botswana through its Corporate Social Investment (CSI) program. BBS also seeks to empower the community by funding projects that benefit the disadvantaged members of our society.

Accordingly, the BBS CSI program concerns itself with community, cultural, social development, sports, environment and conservation and charitable initiations. Over the years, BBS has supported many community initiatives such as donation of garden tools and equipment at Aerodrome Primary School, and conservation groups including the Kalahari Conservation Society.

The latest major community project by BBS is the construction of a fully fitted library worth over a million Pula for Letswai Primary School in the settlement of Zutshwa, Kgalagadi North.

Construction of BBS Sponsored Letswai Primary School Library Begins

Botswana Building Society is pleased to announce that as part of its corporate social responsibility programme, it will be constructing a library for Letswai Primary School which is in Zutshwa Village, Kgalagadi North. The Managing Director of BBS, Mr Pius Molefe performed the ground breaking ceremony on 29 August 2012 to mark the beginning of the project.

The building phase is expected to take 4 months. The library is expected to cost around P800,000 and will accomodate about 50 students at a time, with extra reading space outdoors. it will also have an IT workstation for 10 computers which BBS will also donate.

Also present at the ground breaking ceremony was Mr. Keabetswe Monnawalebala, an architect from Architect International (Pty)Ltd, a citizen owned company that drew the plan for the library and worked on the approval process at no cost.
