The Botswana Building Society launched its new brand promise We Know You Better to its staff members at a glittering event on the 2nd April 2007 at the Gaborone International Convention Centre. Also launched was the brand values campaign centering around the theme ‘I AM BBS’ which further emphasises the Society’s commitment to improving team work, service quality and delivery for the benefit of its customers. The Chief Executive, Mr. Pius Molefe said that while the old brand promise My Bank My Dreams, served the institution well the emergence of a number of competitors required that the Society re-engineer itself hence the need to re-brand. He stated that, “Today we enter a new phase in the life of the Society by launching a new slogan We Know You Better and a values campaign appropriately titled ‘I AM BBS’ to show that indeed we are changing, and for the better.” He explained that the new brand promise points to the position that as an indigenous financial institution the Society is better placed to understand the needs of Batswana thus being able to offer them suitable products and services. Mr. Molefe also reminded BBS employees that brands are built by consistent delivery across all organizational units which also require individual retrospection to ensure quality service delivery, in line with Botho and the values of the company. “In today’s world of business, where so many of us compete for the attention of customers, brands are valuable because they function as a powerful decision making tool for customers,” Present at the event were Ms Mabu Nteta and Ms Lettie Gaelisiwe who also reiterated Molefe’s words on issues surrounding service delivery and its link to Botho. Ms Gaelisiwe, Founder and Director of Best Foot First, delivered a powerful motivational talk centering on the ‘I AM BBS’ brand values campaign. Ms Nteta, Managing Director of Service Bridges Consultancy, stressed that the importance of always delivering good service as doing so not only attracts customers but also helps build a strong brand. In his closing remarks, the Deputy Chief Executive of the Society Mr James Moribame said that Botswana Building Society has for a long time assisted Batswana with acquiring shelter and that to continue doing so as well as it has been, employees must strive to improve service levels. |
